We are lit up red!
Tonight, Sept 1st from 9p-12a in your city- Look for the red lit buildings from coast to coast. No it's not a political party statement...it's a nationwide solidarity moment for the Live Events industry.

As many as 1,500 buildings, iconic structures, and residences will light up in red...including my own house...as the event rolls across the country. This call to action was
created by We Make Events North America, a coalition of live events professionals formed to urge Congress to pass the RESTART Act to help small businesses, and to extend and expand PUA for 1099 workers, and extend the $600 FPUC benefits for displaced events workers.

60 cities will participate including Minneapolis with video footage, live interviews with regional directors and their special guests. The stream will begin in New York City and conclude in Los Angeles.

Thanks JP!
Tomorrow night Sept 1st from 9p-12a in your city- Look for the red lit buildings from coast to coast. No it's not a political party statement...it's a nationwide solidarity moment for the Live Events industry.

My people are hurting. 12 MILLION people in the US alone work in the Live Events industry. That equates to roughly $1 TRILLION contributed to the US economy. Producers, Directors, Stagehands, Video technicians, Audio engineers, Camera ops, Riggers, Lighting Designers, carpenters, Graphics ops, Talent Mgrs, Decor, Tour Mgrs, etc...the list is miles deep. All out of work. 12 Million people. This is way beyond the restaurant industry. But it seems that's all that we hear about in the news. We are trying to get elected officials to notice us. Live Events will not come back for a LONG TIME because of the pandemic.

If you work in the industry, change your FB photo to red tomorrow. Change your front door light to red. Light up the night. Spread the word!

We reworked our virtual event studio over the past couple of days in order to take a few concept photos for a client moving their fall event to a virtual platform.
We can replace the upstage 9'x16' with an 11'3" x 20' upstage screen that would fill the same space with no dress kit needed.
Full prompter system with 65" LCD monitors, along with a pair 50" downstage foldback monitors available though not pictured.
Control was temporarily built this close for programming. Will be moving this to a separate area of our space soon to meet personal distancing requirements.

Works totally fine with my Win10 parallels and I would assume bootcamp would work too. 🙂

We could certainly post a picture of some corner of our warehouse set up with some lights, video gear, drape and a random couch or barstools. Implying that we can assist with your distance communications / web-casting needs.
We however, believe that in this time of the Coronavirus crisis, we should all follow the experts' recommendations to not gather and practice safe social distancing.
This will pass!
When the powers that be and your organizations deem it safe for groups to gather again, we will be ready.
Please be safe!
Wash your hands and be kind to each other in this unprecedented time. Until we are allowed to "Meet" again, enjoy this beautiful view of one of the many fabulous places that you all have invited the Blue Guy to join you at.
We love and appreciate you all.
